These simple women thought of Krishna as their beloved husband, and since He never seemed to leave their sides, they considered Him to be dominated by them. Actually, however, they were unaware of the extent of Lord Krishna's glories. Al though their beautiful smiles and glances were exciting enough to conquer Cupid, they could never agitate the senses of the Lord, for He was unattached to them. This is the divinity of the Supreme Lord - He is not affected by the qualities of the material nature, even though He may be in contact with them. Similarly, the devotees who have taken shelter of the Lord do not become influence by the modes of material nature.
