Pearls of Wisdom - 6

The illusion that is caused by the external energy can be dispelled by the process of Bhakti-yoga, but since people in general are ignorant of this, Srila Vyasadeva compiled the great work, Srimad Bhagavatam. Simply by hearing this wonderful Vedic Literature, the feeling for loving devotional service unto Lord Krishna sprouts up at once in the heart to extinguish the fire of lamentation, illusion and fearfulness.

Pearls of Wisdom - 5

"My dear Vyasa, you should meditate upon the pastimes of the Supreme Lord. Then you should compile a special literature that will describe them in great detail so that people in general may become liberated from material bondage simply by hearing it.

Great authorities have correctly ascertained that the culmination of the advancement of knowledge, study of the Vedas, performance of sacrifice and giving in charity is the engagement in chanting and hearing of the transcendental descriptions of the Supreme Lord."

Pearls of Wisdom - 4

"Even if a neophyte devotee somehow falls down, nothing is lost, and the transcendental taste that he has gained will bring him back to spiritual life at a future date so that he can continue where he had left off."

Pearls of Wisdom - 3

"Even so called spiritual knowledge that is devoid of a personal conception of God is unstaisfying, and so what to speak of fruitive activities, which are by nature miserable and temporary? By having described things with a separatist vision, without relation to the Supreme Lord, you have greatly misled the people in general. By giving them concessions for both earthly and heavenly sense enjoyment, you have encouraged them, in the name of religion, to aggravate their material disease. This has created a great stumbling block on the path of progressive spiritual life, and thus your work must be condemned."

"You should have led the masses of people to the path of pure devotional service, for one who takes to such transcendental engagement is never the loser, whereas non devotees cannot gain anything tangible."

Pearls of Wisdom - 2

"My dear Vyasa, thus it has been directly experienced by me that the best means for the suffering conditioned souls to cross over the ocean of nescience is to situate themselves in the boat of constant chanting of the holy name and pastimes of the Supreme Lord.
The restraint of the senses by the execution of yoga can give one temporary relief from material distress, but only by active service to the Supreme Lord can one attain real satisfaction of the soul"

Pearls of wisdom - 1

Bhagavata Dharma entails serving the Supreme Lord without personal desires, and thus dualistic conceptions such as YOUR RELIGION and MY RELIGION are completely absent. God is one and, and God is for everyone. There is no question of WHAT YOU BELIEVE and WHAT I BELIEVE. The followers of religious systems without a clear conception of God have always fought amongst themselves, but bhagavata-dharma is not a concocted, sectarian belief.
